Prayer and Praise

Dear faithful praying friend,

Greetings from the Southern Hemisphere. We hope this note finds you and yours doing well and that you are happy serving Jesus where He has placed you. We are doing great! God has been so special and near to us in all circumstances. We praise Him for His love and strength. We are quickly approaching our 1st anniversary of being here. Amazing! Time is just marching on and it's a challenge to keep in step with it.

In approaching our 1st anniversary here, we have to renew our temporary Brazilian visas. We have started the process and of course they are asking for unexpected documents. One of the needed documents must be certified by the Brazilian consulate office in New York City and then sent here to be officially translated and finally (hopefully) be accepted by the Federal Police. So again we are fighting against time. Mail movement takes time and sometimes doesn't arrive where it is addressed. Our visas expire Sept 16th. Please help us pray that God would protect our documents and give them wings.

We are so excited! We are getting company! Rev. Case and Rev. Newman are coming to visit and to hold a "ministerial' for us. They are to arrive the 12th of Aug. and will be flying home the 18th. On Sat. the 13th we are having a day of classes and training for our pastors and wives, and leaders of our churches. The theme of the day is Holiness as a doctrine and a lifestyle. Please help us pray that God will work in our midst and would give understanding about our doctrine of holiness. We believe that Holiness is the key to the work here. Holiness is what sets us apart from all the other evangelical churches. We know that God is already working in hearts here; giving them a hunger for a deeper walk. On Sunday evening we enjoyed a wonderful conversation with Pr. Eraldo of the Rio Solimoes church about the life of Holiness. We could sense his hunger and desire. We give thanks to God that He led us to this theme and it's "Just like Jesus" to have already begun creating a hunger and thirst for this teaching..

We praise God for our most recent converts. This past weekend a young couple gave their hearts to God in their home. They attended the Monte Pascoal church for the 1st time this past Sunday. Liandré( Lee-an-drey) is 19 and Gilmara (Jill-mara) is 17 and they have a 7 month baby and are our new babes in Christ. Pray, pray, pray! They have many negative and bad influences in their lives. Liandré lived a life of alcohol and drugs. Pray for the Monte Pascoal church as they "raise" this new couple in the joy of the Lord.

God is doing great things here. We stand amazed at His power. We hope that you will join us in prayers of thanksgiving for His work.

We hope you have a great mid week service. May God bless you for your interest and love for missions.
