Brazilian beauty

For the beauty of the earth... I have been enjoying the beauty of Brazil in my back yard. I am so happy that this plant is finally blooming. Since I don't have much of a green thumb, I didn't have much hope of seeing this plant live. I am not sure what type of plant it is. It reminds me of the iris's (just a whole lot largeer) that I had growing up, some thought it to be an amaryllis and have also heard it called a Brazilian Canna flower. Whatever it is, it is beautiful!
